A CAREER IN THE MAKING...

Rockelle almost didn't make it into this world. Her conception was a concentrated effort on both sides of the country, two teams of veterinarians and three owners all committed to this breeding.

Her mother, Boo Boo ( CH.Samabels, Steel Magnolia) was known for a long and unpredicatble heat cycle, so progesterone tests were used to try and time her conception perfectly.

Then the stud, Rocky (CH.Yaralla's Rock the Ring) lived in Beverly Hills, California, and since neither one could travel across country because of winter weather it was deemed prudent to resort to chilled semen.

This technique has been used with fair success but it was a first for the owners. Trying to time it right for the collection and shipping was nerve racking. One shipment, ( these are not cheap either) was lost by UPS....an employee forgot to actually put the med-pack on the plane!

Then Boo seemed to hang on till the bitter end to conceive. It would be three weeks later until an ultrasound could be done to see if in fact we had puppies.

One puppy......that's what the screen showed. We were hoping for 2 or 3 for the litter, and Aussies are famous for hiding them even from a scan, but we got one, and she was a "10"!

This page is just starting so visit often to see the changes, photos etc!
