"Three Irish Terriers at Fell-in Bridge"

30" x 36"

oil on linen

This was a commission for the owner of the bitch on the right. She is pictured with two of her offspring, same breeding but different litters.

Fell-in Bridge is a famous local spot deep in the heart of the Walthour-Moss Foundation in North Carolina.  Carrol's Branch is the stream in the foreground that bisects the entire 3500 acre tract of pristine Longleaf Pine forest, and this location is near its headwaters about a half mile away. In the early spring you can see minnows swimming against the current and the Golden Club ( a relative of the water lily ) swaying gently in the shallows. This painting depicts several species of flora common to the area. Look closely and you will find fiddleheads coming up, Golden Club, sugar cane, wax myrtle, huckleberry and blueberry, wild magnolia, poplar and gum trees, pricker vines and a box turtle.
The dogs are stars on their own, champions of course!
