Joe was the only black horse owned by this man and he was an Oldenburg. His shiny black coat was always shimmering of blue highlights and because of his size and impressive stature, this portrait is done from the saddle so you see these two as if you were riding with them. With the background a famous area called "homesite hill" our friends sit motionless watching the fox the cross far up the hill.
